Elani Loves Bathtime!

At 5 weeks old, Elani has realized that she likes taking baths (maybe it's because Mom is now taking them with her). To see her with Kelly, 2 dads hard at work, and more bath photos, click on the following link: http://picasaweb.google.com/MamaJenWag/ElaniLovesBathtime

4 Weeks Old Today!

It's amazing how quickly a month goes by when you're spending all your time getting to know this unique little person. Elani's doing very well and just enjoyed a visit from her Grandmom, Pop, Aunt Jill, Uncle Coop, and cousin Joshie. Elani Sierra Schreiber is Born!!!

Recipe for a Happy, Healthy Baby Girl:
Preparation Time: 40 Weeks & 2 Days (should be done by 11/13/07 at 7:46pm)
Ingredients: Plenty of love, patience, and strength
To make: Let nature take its course for roughly 9 months and make sure you eat well and stay healthy for that duration. Then, go through 13 hours of unmedicated labor, push for 4 hours without any pain relief, wait one hour, then top it all off with a 2-hour c-section.
Results: In the end, you'll have a beautiful, 7lb 15oz baby girl, an exhausted mom who's happier than she's ever been in her life, and a proud and loving papa.

11/11 Has Arrived!!!

(But, alas, the baby has not....yet)

Here I am (again) on November 11, 2007: the first day of week 40 and the baby's official "due date."
Jordan and I decided to celebrate 11/11 by going to a movie and dinner (something we may not be able to do for quite some time). There are no signs of impending labor right now, but things are progressing as usual and the baby seems to be doing fine (according to my doctor's visit last Thursday). So, it could be any day now.....
Thanks to all of you for checking in on us! It may be a while before I post again, but by then you'll get to see the baby rather than my belly. We promise to send word "through the grapevine" whenever we have some news. In the meantime, take care and keep sending the love!

Interesting Belly Angles!

Here are two shots I took on October 20th, just one day before the start of week 37 (weeks 37-42 are considered "full term" even though normal gestation is 40-41 weeks). I thought you might like to see the frontal view and my perspective on my new, 43-inch waistline. Enjoy!

Baby Kyla is Here!

Our friends Jason and Corinne (see our bellies below) had their baby on Oct. 9, 2007. Here's Kyla Jade with Jen, Jordan, and "Jomo" (inside the big belly) on Oct. 15th.

"Babymoon" Hike!

This was on a 4-5 mile hike in Carmel Valley, where Jordan and I took our "Babymoon" (like a pre-baby honeymoon). It was Oct. 14, day one of month 9, and I felt like quite the badass to climb this hill. (So, naturally, I made Jordan take a photo to commemorate it.) Yeah, it's not too easy hiking uphill with that much weight out front (and much less lung space to boot)!

Baby Room Update

Though the progress is slow, I managed to find some time last weekend (between grading sets of papers) to get the baby's crib together and hang the quilt on the wall. So, now you can all see the African animal/ "Swazi" room theme first-hand.
Enjoy!!

Bearing Bellies Bared!!!

Here's my friend Corinne and I on October 2, 2007. She was due on September 30th (so she's 40 weeks and 2 days here) and I'm due exactly 6 weeks later (so I'm 34 weeks and 2 days here).

Our 5th Anniversary!

This photo was taken on September 27, 2007, our 5-year anniversary, just before we went out to celebrate. I was 33 weeks and 4 days (or about 8 1/2 months) pregnant.

This was taken last night, on September 6th, 2007, in the middle of week 30. (Yes, that means there's only 10 weeks to go!)

More Pregnancy Photos!

Bobbi took this photo of our "happy little family" on August 21, 2007 when I was 28 weeks along.

This was taken on August 10, 2007 when I was 27 weeks along.

This was taken on August 5, 2oo7 when I was just starting week 26. (Notice the well-organized baby closet behind me!)

Baby Room Progress II

It's still a work in progress, but here's how the baby's room looks now:

This is how the room looked at first: what a mess!

Pregger Photos: 22 1/2 Weeks

Well, here are two photos taken today, July 11, 2007, for those of you who have been requesting belly shots. Enjoy!

Welcome!

Welcome to our little blog, created especially for our growing family. I'm currently 22 weeks pregnant with a November 11th (11/11) due date and hope to use this forum to update friends and family on our progress. We don't know the gender and we won't know until s/he is born, nor do we know the name, but that will all be revealed in November.....

So, I hope you check in periodically and I'll try to send updates whenenever I put up a new photo or post. We should be taking some pregnancy photos soon so those of you far away can see how much I'm growing.
